About

About Renee

Hello, I’m Renee, and I would like to share a little bit about myself so you can be sure when selecting a counsellor that I’m the right fit for you.

I am a registered counsellor with the ACA (Australian Counselling Association). I work from a holistic, humanistic, and person-centred approach always ensuring that my clients are at the centre of everything that I do. I can assure you that I will help you gain clearer insight and meaning in your life. I'll empower you to make some positive and rewarding changes. I will help you to explore your options and enhance your self-awareness. I will walk by your side to support you on your way to a better you. I am warm, relatable, and a lover of nature and the outdoors.

Ever since I was a young child, I had the privilege of admiring my mother helping people, she was a nurse. I attended the hospital where she worked regularly and got to sit and talk to the patients, doctors, and nurses. I guess you could say that this is where my desire to help people started. When I was twelve my mum survived a catastrophic small air-craft accident losing three of her friends. My mum faced a very long and extensive recovery. My life from here was about building resilience, and strength, and learning coping strategies to overcome the trauma that we as a family endured. Our lives changed forever from this point however, I do believe that life experiences whether good or bad shape the people we are today.

Mental health, trauma, grief and loss, and disabilities are areas that I feel very strongly about and it's played a significant part in my life as I'm sure many others. I have a strong love and connection working with Aboriginal people and communities. I have over fifteen years of experience working in the primary health and mental health sector working for Top End Association For mental health in Darwin NT, headspace Pilbara (Mental health services) in Karratha (regional WA), and All care nursing agency NSW  to name a few which has led me to the decision to start my own private practice where I have incorporated my love of the outdoors, caring for people, and counselling into one service.

I describe myself as an adventurist, realist, and optimist. I am a lover of life and live for helping people overcome life's challenges. I can help you bring purpose to your life and provide clarity in times that you are feeling helpless.

There are immense benefits in talking to professionals regarding your life, thoughts, feelings, and behaviours because it’s never too late for change.

My aim is to make enhance therapeutics counselling service accessible and reliable to everyone everywhere living in Australia by bringing services to you at a time and place that is most convenient for you. I offer an office space however, I do not work from an office all the time, as I believe by removing the clinical space from therapy has incredible benefits, instead, I can bring the service to you in a space that you feel most comfortable in.

Living and working in regional areas of Australia I have had the opportunity to gain vast amounts of skills and experiences working closely with a wide variety of clients,  Aboriginal communities, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds that has given me the confidence, skill set, and accountability in delivering many different counselling modalities to achieve the best outcome with my clients.

Living and working in smaller communities we are faced with many different challenges with privacy, confidentiality, and conflict of interest. Having the options of home visits, outreach, telephone, and video is such an exciting opportunity for many of my clients and I am so thrilled to be working in this space!
